With involuntary exchange capabilities in NDC channels, you can re-shop for alternative options in the event of a schedule change. Key benefits include:

  • Automatic validation: Eligible one-way, round-trip, multi-city, open-jaw and partially flown itineraries will be processed as even exchanges with no penalty.
  • Streamlined servicing: You can choose to accept the schedule change or Reshop for alternative options.

Bags

NDC API users can prepay for the first and second checked bags in WestJet NDC-enabled channels. Rather than being directed to Manage Trips to add baggage post-booking, users can purchase them directly in both the NDC API and SPRK booking flows. Whether you choose to add checked bags at the time of booking/ticketing or post-booking/ticketing, this offers a more streamlined process. This enhancement helps guests save on baggage when they prepay, as checked bag fees are higher at the airport.

True Reshop & category 31 automated voluntary exchanges

To expand our capabilities and offer more dynamic, competitive options, True Reshop is available in WestJet NDC-enabled channels. This function allows you to fully explore all available market offers when making changes to an existing booking, beyond the limitations of the original order. Whether it’s adjusting flight dates, updating itineraries, adding services or securing better fares, True Reshop delivers a consistent experience and maximum flexibility across our booking channels.

Some of the key benefits of True Reshop include:

  • Support for a wide range of itineraries including one-way, round-trip, open jaw, point-to-point and multi-city.
  • Returning the best available option within each fare brand.
  • The ability to apply discounted fares (corporate ID, promo codes, private fares) during the re-shopping process.
  • Full compatibility with category 31 automated exchanges.
  • Support for up to three exchanges per booking.

With True Reshop, you can:

  • Enter new travel dates and a new origin/destination for a search.
  • Request itinerary changes while retaining original cabin and fare brands.
  • Send cabin preferences to return specific results (e.g., Business, Premium, Economy).
  • Change fare bundles while keeping the same travel dates.
  • Modify unused segments on partially flown tickets.
  • Add new flights to an existing itinerary.
  • Re-shop by departure or arrival time preferences.
  • Request offers limited to Private Fares, Public Fares or both.
  • Seamlessly switch between round-trip and one-way itineraries.
